    what are you talking about?

    how big are the windows??

One looks fine on your standard size window

2 per window, definitely floor to ceiling length to give the room some height and have the eyes look at the whole height of the room. If the curtains are only midway on the wall and you get curtains that size, it keeps the eyes at eye-level and the room will appear smaller.

My opinion think you purchase one and not going to tie and place at the sides unlike.

    How big are the windows?

if they are at least 32 W, then two for each. Or one roman shade for reach, it it fits your decor.

Some of the answers you have received here are very confusing. Here’s what you need to do: Measure your windows. Decide what type of window treatment you want. This will depend upon the look you want to achieve: formal, casual, cottage, shabby-chic, contemporary, etc.
You’ll need to consider the type of window treatment you plan to buy. For example, if you want conventional draperies with pin-on hooks, you’ll need only to cover the width of the windows. Unless, of course, you want the window to appear wider, and then you would place your rod beyond the window. Then you might need a wider drapery.

If you want to use panels, with a rod pocket which are shirred onto the rods, you’ll need 2 and a half to three times the width of the window to make the treatment look full and lush. Measure the window, then multiply by 2.5 or 3 to obtain the number of inches you’ll need, then buy enough panels to accomodate. I have sheers in my bedroom, and I have two pairs – two panels on either side. The panels were ready-made from Target, and each panel is 60 inches wide by 84 inches long.
They came in a package of two panels, or one pair. One pair is 120 inches wide.

You probably want your curtains to come to the floor, but you may not necessarily want the rod to go all the way to the ceiling. If you have an extremely high ceiling, this may not work. You’d need custom-made draperies or curtains, as store-bought may not come in the length you’d need. If you ceilings are unusally low, the “to the ceiling” rod treatment might bring attention to the height of the ceiling, which is not a good thing. The eye would automatically travel to the top of the curtain, emphasizing your low, low ceiling.

Your best bet is to take your measurements, decide what kind of treatment you want, and either go to a department store or do some research on your own, either through the internet or by reading books and articles.

If you go to a department store like Penney’s, the clerks are well-trained in helping customers select the proper sizes and styles for your windows. You don’t have to purchase your products there. You could just ask for advice, look at what they have, get some ideas, and say you’ll have to think on it and make a decision later. Then you can head to Target or Walmart, or check out what’s available at Ross or Marshall or Tuesday Morning.

    Good Luck.
