Yes, very funny… Not really, more of an annoyance. If for some unbelievable reason you are actually serious. Don’t bother. Buy a new one. They aren’t expensive.

Didn’t think Windows 3.1 had support for internet. Back when 3.1 came out i think internet was still a top secret military system. If you’re thinking of upgrading, i have a more recent Amiga 500 for sale. if you add a 2MB hard disk you can even get internet on it! ;)

There may be people that ridicule this question, but many are not old enough to recall when Microsoft made ‘interesting’ operating systems where the operator was far more in control, that is the wonder of Linux.
I am always a believer in ‘if it ain’t broke don’t fix it’. Yes Windows 3.1 is now well outdated, but it also garauntees you will always know more about computing than anyone ‘born and bred’ on XP or Vista and any such other ‘plug in and play’ operating systems.
I say if you feel comfortable using it then hang on to it, afterall it is a piece of Home Computing history and you should feel proud that you are able to still get the most out of it.
Long live REAL operating systems.
Good luck.

lol. that’s an advantage i haven’t though about: “ther are no viruses compatible with my out-dated system”
i think it’s time for you to look outside.

Is he including a monitor with the C64? How about the cassette player? Any games? Modem? I’d say assess the accessories. If he’s throwing in a 1200 baud modem or acoustic coupler, go for it.
Oh, and don’t try the upgrade to Win95 – IIRC, it requires a 486. You can maybe get Slackware Linux 1.0 to run, although that’ll be a bunch of floppies. Do you have a 3.5″ drive or 5.25″?
